Providing Artwork created in Canva?

Please note that you require a paid Canva subscription to download and share high-resolution PDF files suitable for printing.
You cannot do this with a free Canva subscription.

 

• CREATE: If you are providing your own artwork files, we recommend that you design your signage by selecting ‘Create a design’ and then selecting ‘Custom size’ at the bottom. You can then enter the required size and search for suitable graphic templates once you are in the editor (see image). However, it’s also possible to create your artwork with a different template and resize your file later.

 

 

• RESIZE: Please ensure your artwork files are set up to the correct size. You can edit the size under ‘Resize & Magic Switch’ and provide a custom size.

 

• SCALE: If the size of your sign exceeds the maximum size allowed in Canva, it is possible to provide a scaled file at 50% or 25% of the overall sign size. Please ensure you add this information to your file name if you supply a scaled file.

 

• SHARE: You can share your artwork file directly with our design team. To enable this, you need to change the settings to ‘Anyone with the link’ & ‘Can Edit’. Then just copy the link and send it to our team.

 

• DOWNLOAD: Please select ‘PDF Print’ settings when downloading your artwork file.The print-ready PDF should be saved at the correct sign size with crop marks and bleed. Please select ‘Crop marks & bleed’.
  The colour profile for print files should always be CMYK. Please select ‘CMYK (best for professional printing)’.

 

• BLEED: As bleed requirements vary depending on the sign type or product, Canva’s standard bleed may not suffice and and manual bleed may have to be added to the canvas/document size. Please email or call us and we can advise what bleed/final set up requirements are required. • FLATTEN PDF: In some circumstances, we may request a ‘flattened PDF’. This means that all of the text and graphical elements have been converted to a rasterised bitmap. This makes the PDF file no longer editable. Doing this can be helpful for particular gradients, shadow effects, fonts or transparencies. However, we usually prefer an editable PDF in the first instance.
